Description

Wet Strength Filter Paper Grade 113 is a wet strengthened qualitative filter paper designed for fast filtration of coarse particles, viscous solutions and gelatinous precipitates.

With approximately 30 µm particle retention, very high flow rate and reinforced wet strength, Grade 113 enables rapid filtration under high load conditions where standard filter papers clog or fail.

It is the fastest flow and highest load capacity grade among wet strengthened qualitative filter papers, making it ideal for heavy-duty laboratory and industrial filtration workflows.

What is Filter Paper Grade 113?

Grade 113 is a resin-reinforced wet strength filter paper manufactured from high-purity cotton linters. Its structure is optimized for maximum permeability and mechanical strength under demanding filtration conditions.

The creped surface and thick fiber matrix provide very high loading capacity, allowing efficient filtration of coarse particles and dense suspensions.

It is equivalent to Whatman Grade 113 and serves as a reliable, cost-effective alternative for laboratory and industrial filtration applications.

Why Choose Grade 113?

  • Filter clogs quickly due to heavy solids -Use Grade 113 for high load capacity
  • Filtration is too slow -Use Grade 113 for fast flow rate
  • Viscous or gelatinous samples -Use Grade 113 for stable filtration
  • Need high strength under vacuum -Use Grade 113
  • Need finer retention – Use Grade 2or Grade 5

Grade 113 is the best choice when filtration speed and load capacity are more important than fine particle retention.

Key Features & Advantages

  • 30 µm particle retention– suitable for coarse filtration
  • Fast filtration speed– reduces processing time
  • Very high load capacity– handles heavy solids and viscous samples
  • Wet strengthened structure– resists tearing under vacuum or pressure
  • Creped surface– improves permeability and loading performance
  • Low ash content (<0.13%)– suitable for routine qualitative analysis

Performance Overview

Grade 113 is engineered for filtration processes where standard filter papers become clogged or slow. Its large pore size ensures rapid liquid flow even under high particulate load conditions.

It significantly improves filtration efficiency and throughput in coarse filtration and pre-filtration workflows.

Typical Applications

  • Coarse particle filtration
  • Viscous and resin solution filtration
  • Gelatinous precipitate separation
  • Industrial process filtration
  • Pre-filtration before fine filtration steps
  • Vacuum filtration of high-load samples
