PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) membrane filters are naturally hydrophobic membranes designed for solvent filtration, gas filtration, and analytical sample preparation.
They are widely used in HPLC sample filtration, microbiology gas filtration, and chemical solvent processing due to their excellent chemical resistance and low extractables.
PVDF membrane filters are made from polyvinylidene fluoride, a high-performance fluoropolymer material with strong chemical resistance and thermal stability.
Unlike hydrophilic membranes such as PES or CA, PVDF membranes are naturally hydrophobic, making them ideal for:
PVDF membranes are inherently hydrophobic, meaning they repel water and are best suited for non-aqueous applications.

Yes. PVDF membranes are naturally hydrophobic and ideal for solvent and gas filtration applications.
Not directly. PVDF is hydrophobic and requires pre-wetting agents if used for aqueous filtration.
It is widely used for HPLC sample preparation, solvent filtration, and gas filtration.
PVDF has higher flow rate and moderate chemical resistance, while PTFE has stronger chemical resistance but lower flow performance.
Yes, PVDF has moderate protein binding and is used in biochemical applications.
PVDF membrane filters are widely used in analytical laboratories and industrial filtration processes due to their balance of chemical resistance, flow performance, and hydrophobic properties.
