Quantitative Filter Paper
In the manufacturing process of HAWACH’s quantitative filter paper, the pulp is treated with hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid, and washed with distilled water to remove most of the impurities in the paper fiber, so the residue after combustion is very small, less than 0.007%. It has little influence on the analysis results and is suitable for precise quantitative analysis.
Hawach Scientific quantitative filter papers are used for quantitative and gravimetric analyses, it also has a good performance under pressure or vacuum test condition. All the quantitative filter paper is manufactured under intense quality control standards to be of the highest quality and consistency, ensuring uniform performance to meet your standards.
The quantitative filter paper is mainly used for the filtration after the filtration, that is, the weight method analysis test and the corresponding analysis test in the quantitative chemical analysis. The ash weight of each filter paper is a fixed value.
Characteristics of Quantitative Filter Paper:
High Purity: Quantitative filter papers are made from high-purity cellulose fibers to minimize the presence of impurities that could interfere with the analytical results.
Defined Pore Size: These papers have a precisely defined and controlled pore size to allow consistent and predictable filtration rates and ensure minimal particle retention. Common pore sizes include 2.5 µm, 5 µm, and 8 µm.
Low Ash Content: Quantitative filter papers have low ash content to avoid any interference in the analysis from residual substances in the filter paper.
Consistent Weight: They have a consistent weight per unit area (usually expressed in grams per square meter, g/m²) to enable accurate gravimetric measurements.
High Wet Strength: Quantitative filter papers have good wet strength to prevent breaking or tearing during filtration, even when wet.
Chemically Resistant: They are chemically resistant to a wide range of solvents, acids, and bases to maintain integrity during filtration.
Applications: Quantitative filter papers are widely used for quantitative analysis of various substances, including suspended solids, precipitates, and insoluble compounds.
Gravimetric Analysis: The primary application of quantitative filter papers is gravimetric analysis, where the mass of the filtered substance is determined precisely. After filtration, the filter paper with the collected substance is dried and weighed to calculate the percentage of the analyte in the original sample.
Standard Sizes: Quantitative filter papers are available in standard sizes like 9 cm, 11 cm, and 15 cm diameters, similar to qualitative filter papers.
