Qualitative Filter Paper

Hawach Scientific Co., Ltd is a professional manufacturer of lab consumables, qualitative filter paper is our hot-sale product.

All of our filter paper is made from pure cotton linters and the ash content of it is mainly less than 0.06%, all the filter paper is produced under tightly controlled manufacturing conditions to assure quality year after year. Two kinds can be chosen: standard qualitative filter paper and wet-strengthened qualitative filter paper. You may base on the application, and filtration speed to find the most suitable products.

Hawach Scientific is the solution provider, professional manufacturer, and faithful friend. We also passed the ISO9001 & CE certificate. We insist on the customer first, only based on service, we can go further.

Characteristics of Qualitative Filter Paper

Filtration Speed: Qualitative filter papers come in different grades, ranging from fast to slow filtration speeds. The filtration speed is determined by the thickness and porosity of the filter paper. Fast filtration is suitable for samples with larger particles, while slower filtration is preferred for fine particles.

Pore Size: The pore size of qualitative filter paper defines the size of particles it can effectively retain during the filtration process. Qualitative filter papers typically have larger pore sizes compared to quantitative filter papers, making them suitable for separating coarser particles.

Retention Capacity: Qualitative filter papers have moderate particle retention capacity, allowing them to hold a reasonable amount of solid material before clogging occurs. However, they are not designed for high particle load applications.

Composition: Qualitative filter papers are usually made from cellulose fibers derived from wood pulp. This material offers good chemical resistance and is compatible with a wide range of solvents and samples.

Applications: Qualitative filter papers are commonly used for tasks like gravity or vacuum filtration of precipitates, removing particles from liquids, sample clarification, and general laboratory filtration needs.

Qualitative Analysis: As the name suggests, qualitative filter papers are primarily used for qualitative analysis where the presence or absence of specific substances or particles is determined without precise measurements.
