SPE Column Can Be Installed in Just Three Steps

Pre-processing is a time-consuming and laborious step in the entire analysis and testing process, and the demand for consumables such as SPE columns is also ever-changing. At this time, it is necessary to install the column by yourself.

1. Install the lower sieve plate

Use a pair of tweezers to take a lower sieve plate, place it on the top of the empty column tube, and push the sieve plate horizontally to the bottom of the column tube with a push rod.

2. Filling the packing

Keep the column tube vertical, place the long neck funnel into the column tube, add the required packing to the funnel, gently lift the funnel, and tap the column tube to make the upper surface of the packing flush.

Note:
a. The neck of the long-neck funnel should have sufficient length to access the lower sieve plate;
b. When lifting the funnel, the filler should be prevented from sticking to the inner wall of the column tube.

3. Install the upper sieve plate

Keep the column tube vertical, take an upper sieve plate, put it on the top of the column tube, and push the sieve plate horizontally to the upper surface of the packing with a push rod.

Note: When there is a gap between the upper surface of the packing and the sieve plate, keep the SPE columns vertical and tap the outer wall, and push the sieve plate to the appropriate position again with the push rod.

Basic Steps of SPE Technology for SPE Column

1. Active treatment of the extraction column: choose a solvent to pass through the SPE small column to wet and activate the SPE packing, so that the analyte can be in close contact with the solid phase surface, and it is easy to undergo adsorption. It can also remove the impurities that may exist in the column and reduce Contamination;

After that, it is necessary to choose an easy-to-replace solvent with a similar acuteness and pH value to the sample matrix, so that the sample solution can be in good contact with the surface of the adsorbent and improve the rough removal efficiency.

2. Loading: The pretreated sample is poured onto the activated SPE cartridge, and then the liquid sample is passed through the SPE cartridge at an appropriate flow rate by pressurization, vacuuming, or centrifugation.

3. Leaching: Select a medium-strength mixed solvent to wash away the interference components in the group as much as possible without causing the target extract to be lost;

4. Elution: The analyte is eluted and collected with a small volume of the appropriate elution solvent; the solvent is dried for later or direct online analysis. The choice of the strength of the elution solvent is critical. To achieve the effect that the analyte is eluted as much as possible and more strongly adsorbed than the analyte remains on the SPE cartridge.

You also can choose Reversed Phase C18 SPE Cartridges, SCX SPE Cartridges, SAX SPE Cartridges, Normal Phase PR Grade Florisil SPE Cartridges and other SPE Cartridges using.
