The serological pipette is a kind of laboratory disposable consumable, which is frequently used in scientific research experiments, bacteriology, tissue culture, clinical and other fields that require aseptic operation to transfer liquids.. How to use serological pipette
1. When using, the pipette should be washed first and drained naturally.
2. Rinse 2-3 times with the solution to be measured, and pinch the place above the neck line with the right thumb and middle finger.
3. Use the left hand like a ball to gently suck up the solution, and pay attention to the rising liquid level with your eyes.
4. When the liquid level rises to about 1cm above the marking line, quickly block the nozzle with the index finger of the right hand.
5. Dry the pipette’s outer wall and lower end with filter paper
6. Drop the liquid level slowly until the concave liquid level is tangent to the marking line, by loosing the right hand index finger slightly.
7. Then move the pipette into the container ready to receive the solution, so that its outlet contacts the wall of the device.
8. The container is tilted slightly, and the pipette is upright, so that the solution flows down the wall freely.
9. At this time, there is still a drop of liquid left in the pipette, which cannot be blown out.
Use notes for serological pipette
1. Do not dry it in an oven.
2. The pipette cannot remove the solution that is too hot or too cold.
3. It’s better use the same pipette in the same experiment.
4. After use, clean it in time. Rinse it first with chromic acid lotion to remove the oil stains on the inner wall of the tube. Use tap water to rinse it and then use distilled water. And then use the solution to be pipetted for 2 to 3 times to rinse the pipe wall to ensure that the concentration of the pipetted solution remains unchanged.
5. When using a pipette, in order to reduce the measurement error, the starting point should be taken from the top scale (0 scale) each time, and the required volume of solution should be released downward instead of taking as much volume as needed.
