The working principle of activated carbon block filter cartridge is to form a layer of equilibrium surface concentration on the surface of activated carbon particles. The size of activated carbon particles also has an effect on the adsorption capacity. Generally speaking, the smaller the activated carbon particles, the larger the filtration area. Therefore, the total area of powdered activated carbon is the largest and the adsorption effect is the best, but the powdered activated carbon is easy to flow into the water tank with water, which is difficult to control and rarely used.
Hawach activated carbon block filter cartridge has strong adsorption capacity, because the surface area of carbon particles is very large, so it can fully contact with impurities. When these impurities are adsorbed by capillary tubes, it can realize the detection function of BET method (with direct comparison method). The long diameter design of hydraulic simulation is adopted in the cylinder block of activated carbon block filter cartridge, and the high efficiency activated carbon with reasonable particle size and specific surface area greater than 1000 / g is adopted, which makes it have the functions of both upper layer special effect filtration and lower layer high efficiency adsorption, which greatly improves the degree of water production purification and the service life of carbon.
Process of Filtration
In the filtration process, the filter media in the activated carbon block filter cartridge can be filled with 0.15 ≤ 0.4 m high quartz sand as the supporting layer, and the quartz sand can be filled with 1.0 m 1.5 m granular activated carbon as the filter layer. The filling thickness is generally 1000 m / 2000 mm. Before loading activated carbon filter, quartz sand of bottom filter shall be subject to solution stability test. After soaking for 24 hours, the following requirements shall be met: increase of total solid type shall not exceed 20mg/L. The increase in oxygen consumption shall not exceed 10mg/L. After soaking in alkaline medium, the increase of silica shall not exceed 10mg/L.
